Note: I was provided a key for this game by the developer/publisher, but that doesn't change my opinion about it.I played through a couple of missions, start to finish, and:Meh.I mean, the graphics and AI are absolute garbage, the game could do with a lot more labeling, and it gets a bit confusing when you request units and they don't spawn at the base like you expect or you can't do something due to a cooldown, but other than that I can't really complain. The game could use a tutorial and in-game prompts rather than a help menu to explain some of these confusing aspects, and the game's buttons could be labeled better.Maybe, however, my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt as I don't usually play RTS games and can't really judge it as such. I received this game for free in return for my honest review.I guess you can call this a game. Is it playable? Yes. Is it enjoyable? No.The camera is too close. The font style and color make it difficult to read. The "music" is irritating. The controls give little feedback and the tutorial is nonexistent. Enemies are marked as green on the map which is the most backward thing about this game (and that really says a lot.) The graphics are low rez to the point of being no rez and they certainly aren't being helped by the camera being so close. The AI is subpar at best. Even on hard, it wasn't too difficult to win. Even getting this one for free made me feel like I was being ripped off.. Hey i've just played the game ...i think is great , maybe it needs some more mission quests!I recomend it!. My immediate feelings towards the game were bad;- The font used in the menu- The menu itself - The audio - The closeness of the camera - Dated graphics and no tutorialAll of which made me feel pretty unhappy....but then I figured something out, made some progress attacked the enemy and setup a base. At this point the game seems to stop for me; I had no airplanes, no enemy vehicles to attack and the entirety of the game seemed to be just this....even so this game actually does have something, an old school quality about it and I can see the potential.Now I am sure there is more to the game than what I have seen and I blame the menu + lack of a tutorial for my lack of progress but even in this very short amount of gameplay time I certainly saw something that made me want to see more.== What needs to change ==- Main menu looks terrible, were not in the 80's now fix it up a bit.- Audio could be better but we can suffer that for this type of game.- Camera zoom level is WAY TO CLOSE!!! Allow us to zoom out, a lot more and see what is going on.- UI is not great, this like the menu needs updating and modernising.- Tutorial, even if it a collection of images highlighting buttons and some text make a tutorial.- Graphics are actually just right for this game, so no issue there if everything else is fixed up.- More content and better more stuctured gameplay experience...Campaign, Tutorial, 1v1 Match.- MP might be fun too.So No recommendatio from me today.Please do take onboard my suggestions, get some development into this title and I think there is a pretty good chance this could be a recommendation from me.. Raid on Coasts is a top-down RTS game which is focused on establishing a beachhead with an invasion force. Direct your landing craft to a point on the coast, disembark the soldiers, and capture some flags (or, in the language of the game, big/little villages). The extremely broken Russian translation in this game doesn't do it any favours. The yardstick for "military" RTS games would have to be Command and Conquer from the 1990's. This game, with primative graphics not arguably better than a game from decades ago (yet released in 2017), compares very poorly. Even older, but more contemporary titles like Company of Heroes run laps around this. The gameplay is unfinished and unpolished, with a clunky top down interface and limited controls. For the same $5 price tag you can catch far, far better RTS games on sale. My first impressions of Raid On Coasts weren't incredible, the presentation could use a little work and it all appeared to be a little generic. I still fired it up though, and honestly I was kinda glad I did. What I thought would be a waste of time turned out to be an enjoyable little experience which shows some real potential and promise.The content for the game is a little thin on the ground, one map and a handful of units means you can see everything in about 30 minutes of playtime. But it's the kind of game that invites repeat plays, I'd just like to see a little more variation each time (plus there's an annoying bug which causes the AI to lose in the first minute of the match, forcing a game restart).Some minor balancing issues and a lack of identity aside, I'd highly recommend it to anyone who was a fan of Z back in the day (I just wish they could inject a little of that character into this)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3UpDfUs18s.
